Mondly enhances language learning experience with application of Augmented Reality

With the advancement of technology, learning any language (French, Spanish etc.) is made convenient using a Smartphone. After the launch of “Duolingo”, many more mobile applications are available now, using the newest technologies and being updated on daily basis.

In this article, we are going to talk about a function of the well known “MONDLY”, an application with which we can learn languages easily. Mondly offers a range of 33 languages and just now has integrated Augmented Reality in order to offer a more entertaining and modern format of learning. Mondly is going to launch the platform named “MondlyAR”.

Mondly Languages has more than 30 millions of users worldwide. It has been in the market for almost 4 years. In 2016, Mondly was one of the most downloaded mobile applications in the Arab countries, and in August 2016 they launched the first chatbot with voice recognition technology in order to enhance the user's experience and teach the learner in more effective manner.

MondlyAR has also worked closely with Google to launch the experience with ARCore (compatible with Samsung Galaxy S7, S8, S9, Note 8, Google Pixel 1, 2, LG V30, Android V30 +, ASUS Zenfone AR and OnePlus 5). Hence, the company could show a virtual teacher who carries out a conversation with the user, similar to a human. Processing the spoken language and responding with a human voice and gestures was part of the first wave of the company's applications using augmented reality.

The virtual teacher provides instant information about the pronunciation and teaches the student with virtual objects (planets, animals, musical instruments and more) that interact with the user to obtain more interesting, immersive lessons. By incorporating these real elements into the lessons, students are more likely to understand, process and retain what they are taught.

The company plans to launch MondlyAR in the application store of Apple before the end of the month.
